Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, specifically focusing on investment portfolios. This involves classifying investments, calculating gains and losses, and reconciling investment positions.
- Investment Accounting: Maintain detailed records of investment transactions, including purchases, sales, dividends, and interest income. Apply appropriate accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) to ensure accurate valuation and reporting of investments.
- Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile investment positions and transactions with custodian banks, brokers, and other third parties. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Valuation: Determine the fair value of investments, which may involve researching market data, analyzing financial statements of investee companies, and utilizing valuation models. Stay abreast of changes in valuation techniques and regulatory requirements.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare tax schedules related to investment income and capital gains. Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
